5 Simple At-Home Rituals to Reset Your Mood
Everyone has days where they wake up on the wrong side of the bed or have something happen and just need a reset. Here are 5 things you can try to change your mood for the better. You can enjoy these whenever you need to refresh, relax, and reconnect. Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated and time consuming. Sometimes the little things make your days brighter.
Warm Foot Soak with Epsom Salt and Essential Oils
Why It Works: Soaking your feet in warm water is instantly soothing, especially if they hurt or you’ve had a long stressful day. Epsom salts contain magnesium, and you can also purchase magnesium flakes. Magnesium is known to help relax tense muscles and by adding in essential oils you can also have the aromatherapy benefits.

Tea Ritual
Why It Works: Taking time to thoughtfully prepare a cup of tea can slow us down and help us to focus on the present. Chamomile, lemon balm, or peppermint teas are great for calming and promoting relaxation.

How-To: Find a quiet spot to drink your tea. Notice the aroma of the tea and feel its warmth. Use this time to try to clear your mind. Focus on the taste and warmth of the tea and just enjoy the experience.

Candlelit Reading Session
Why It Works: When you need an escape, try curling up with a good book and a lovely candle. I’m enjoying my fall farmhouse scented candle right now. Create a cozy comfy space in a corner of your house to encourage relaxation and help you shift your focus away from the stress of your day.

How-To: Pick a soothing or inspirational book and light a candle with a calming cozy scent. Or maybe cozy mysteries are your favorite. Candles scented with vanilla, lavender, or sandalwood smell lovely and are very calming. If you set a timer for 20 or 30 minutes, you can fully immerse yourself in the story without worrying about the time.
Quick Gratitude and Reflection Journaling
Why It Works: When you focus on the things that you are grateful for it can boost your mood and promote a positive mindset. Try journaling for a short time to reset and see things from a different perspective.
How-To: Pick up your favorite notebook and write down three things you are grateful for today. If you would like to journal, think about a moment that brought you joy or peace.
