Hi friend,
Long summer days are wonderful—but they can leave our skin feeling parched, sun-kissed, and just a bit overworked. That’s where a nighttime balm ritual comes in. 🌙✨
In this week’s podcast, “Nighttime Nourishment: Herbal Oils & Balms for Summer Repair,” I share one of my favorite slow beauty routines for healing, hydrating, and replenishing your skin overnight.
This isn't just skincare—it's a sensory experience. With calming flowers like rose, chamomile, and calendula, we’re tapping into the restorative power of plants to help your skin (and spirit) reset.

🌿 Herbal Night Balm for Summer Repair
A deeply soothing, multipurpose balm to calm sun-stressed skin, hydrate dry patches, and support overnight repair — using the gentle power of infused oils and flowers.
✨ Ingredients
(Makes approx. 2 oz balm)
- 2 tbsp calendula-infused olive oil
- 1 tbsp chamomile-infused jojoba oil
- 1 tbsp mango butter (or shea butter for a richer balm)
- 1 tbsp beeswax pastilles
- 5 drops rose essential oil
- 3 drops lavender essential oil
- (Optional: 1 capsule of vitamin E or 4–5 drops for added skin nourishment and preservation)
🧴 Instructions
-
Melt base ingredients
In a double boiler or heat-safe glass jar placed in a pan of simmering water, gently melt together:
- Calendula-infused olive oil
- Chamomile-infused jojoba oil
- Mango butter
- Beeswax
- Stir and remove from heat
Once melted, remove from heat and let cool slightly (for about 1–2 minutes).
-
Add essential oils
Stir in:
- Rose essential oil
- Lavender essential oil
- (Optional: Vitamin E)
- Pour into containers
Carefully pour into clean balm tins or glass jars. Let cool and solidify at room temperature (or place in fridge to set faster).
- Label and use
Store in a cool, dry place. Use within 6–9 months.
🌙 How to Use
At bedtime, warm a small amount between fingertips and gently press onto clean skin — focusing on dry, sun-kissed areas like cheeks, lips, décolleté, or cuticles. Breathe deeply and enjoy the calming scent as part of your evening ritual.

🌸 Radiant Things I’m Loving
Because I believe beauty begins in the little things, here are a few delights bringing light to my week:
- Evening walks at golden hour – when the light is soft, the air is warm, and everything feels just right.
- Rose tea before bed – calming, fragrant, and perfect for winding down.
- Cold-rolled jade massage tool – such a treat for tired summer skin!
- A beautiful quote I’m carrying with me:
“She decided to stay in the light and let the flowers grow.”
