Let your Saturday be a sanctuary of rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

Hello! I hope you’re enjoying fall and have a chance to enjoy it. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller I’ve put together some ideas for skincare and self-care this November. I’d love to hear from you and know what your fun fall activities are.
10 things to do to adjust your skincare for colder weather
Prepare for cooler weather
As the temperature drops, our skin gets dryer and needs more moisture. Layering your skincare with toners, serums, and moisturizers helps keep moisture locked in. You might like to try a cleansing balm if your skin is very dry.
Use a richer moisturizer
Swap your light summer moisturizer for a cream or balm with moisturizing ingredients like shea butter.
Incorporate hydrating ingredients
Hydration is important to combat dryness. Try a toner with ingredients such as aloe, glycerin, or rosehip seed oil.
Gentle exfoliation
Dry flaky skin can build up and dull your complexion. Try gentle exfoliants like oatmeal scrubs, lactic acid, or enzyme masks once or twice a week. I also love to use rice powder and whatever dried flowers I have to make a scrub.
Use nourishing lip care
Lips are more prone to chapping in the cold weather. Lip balms made with coconut oil, olive oil, butters and wax will moisturize and keep the moisture in.
Use soothing facial oils
Adding a face oil to your routine can add an extra layer of nourishment and moisture. Try oils like argan, jojoba, or grapeseed as a part of your nighttime routine.
Focus on body care
The skin on your body also gets dry during the cold weather. Try a body butter instead of a spray or lotion. Ingredients such as shea butter, cocoa butter, and natural oils.
Fall inspired masks
Masks you make at home can target seasonal skin concerns while feeling indulgent. Try a pumpkin yogurt, and honey mask to hydrate and exfoliate. Or an oatmeal, milk, and chamomile mask for calming hydration.
Switch to gentle cleansers
Harsh cleansers can strip your skin of moisture. Try cream or oil-based cleansers to maintain the skin’s natural oils.
Hydrating mists
Use mists to give your skin hydration throughout the day. You might enjoy a mist with rose water, aloe vera, and a few drops of lavender essential oil.
Self-Care Rituals to Embrace in November
Gratitude practice - Write down 3 things you’re thankful for and share them with someone. Create a gratitude jar if that sounds fun to you.
Warm Herbal Teas - You might enjoy warming teas like cinnamon, ginger, or chai. Or if you’re in the mood for calming blends, try chamomile or rooibos for a relaxing evening.
Candlelit Evenings - Light a candle with seasonal scents and sit down and read if you have time.
Nourishing Skincare - In addition to the things above, you could also try a facial massage or a sugar or oatmeal scrub with a seasonal scent.
Nature Walks - Take a walk focusing on the sights and sounds of Autumn and collect natural treasures to use in crafts or home decor.
Warming Aromatherapy - Diffuse blends with cinnamon, clove, and orange for a cozy home atmosphere. Or try boiling a pot of water on the stove or in a crockpot and adding orange slices, clove, and cinnamon sticks.
Weekly Bath - Use a hydrating bath oil, and body butter this fall.
Seasonal Meals - Create hearty soups and stews. Baked spiced treats. Or sip on spiced cider or hot chocolate.
Acts of Kindness - Share something you make with a neighbor. My neighbors share their chili with us, and we always love it.
Make Your Home Cozier - Declutter your space, create a cozy corner, and infuse your home with natural scents.
