Summer calls for skincare that’s light, breathable, and glow-enhancing. As the temperature rises and the sun shines brighter, our skin naturally produces more oil—so instead of rich balms and butters, this is the time to reach for lightweight oils that nourish without feeling heavy.
In this week’s podcast, we’re spotlighting three of my favorite summer oils:
🌿 Jojoba oil –
🍓 Raspberry seed oil
🍑 Apricot kernel oil
These botanical oils are perfect for facial serums, after-sun care, or all-over hydration. Let’s take a closer look.
✨ DIY RECIPE: Carrie’s Summer Glow Facial Oil
Create your own summer-ready skincare blend using these three beautiful oils:
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon jojoba oil
- 1 teaspoon raspberry seed oil
- 1 teaspoon apricot kernel oil
- 1–2 drops lavender or geranium essential oil (optional)
Directions:
Blend ingredients in a small amber dropper bottle. Shake gently before use.
Use 3–5 drops on your face morning or night.
🌼 Tip: Pair It With a Hydrosol
These oils work best when applied to slightly damp skin. Try pairing them with a summer hydrosol like mint, rose, or chamomile for a refreshing, skin-quenching boost.

🌿 Plant of the Week: Lemon Balm
Bright, refreshing, and full of gentle energy—Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) is a summer favorite for both skin and soul. With its light citrusy scent and calming properties, lemon balm supports emotional balance and healthy, radiant skin.
As you can see, I have a ton of lemon balm I need to use now!
🍋 Skincare benefits:
– Calms irritation and inflammation
– Gently tones and refreshes the skin
– Contains antioxidants that help support skin resilience and clarity
Try it as a cooling facial mist or toner made from lemon balm tea, or use it in a steam for a gentle herbal cleanse. You can also infuse it in apricot or jojoba oil for a sunny, calming summer body oil.
