August is for replenishing

August is for replenishing

📖 Scripture for the Week

"He restores my soul. He leads me beside quiet waters."
— Psalm 23:2–3

I love that restoration begins with God leading.

He doesn't rush us.

He doesn't scold us for being weary.

He gently brings us to the places where our souls can breathe again.

Hello beautiful souls,

Welcome to a brand new month. Our word for August is Replenish. I hope you received your copy of The Space Between in your email and were able to download it.

It's a gentle word, isn't it? Not one that asks us to do more or try harder, but one that simply invites us to notice what fills us back up.

This month in The Space Between, we'll be wandering through five quiet wells in the garden—the Well of Rest, Beauty, Scripture, Friendship, and Wonder. Each one offers a small invitation to slow down and receive the good gifts God has already placed around us.

My hope is that, together, we'll discover that replenishment doesn't usually arrive all at once. More often, it comes in small moments of grace that gather quietly over time.

🌼 A Gentle Practice

Find one small way to replenish yourself this week.

It doesn't have to be complicated.

Perhaps you'll...

  • sit outside with your morning coffee,
  • apply your favorite lotion slowly instead of rushing,
  • read one Psalm before bed,
  • gather flowers from your garden,
  • or simply take five deep breaths before beginning your day.

Choose one tiny act of care and let it remind you that replenishment isn't something you have to earn.

It's a gift to receive.

🌿 This Week

One of the things I'll be doing this week is making a fresh batch of a nourishing body balm for a friend—and while I'm at it, I'll make a little for myself too.

I'll also be mixing up my favorite rose petal face salve.

As I am gathering the jars and oils, I realized how much replenishment looks like this. When skin becomes dry, we don't criticize it for needing moisture—we simply care for it.

Maybe our hearts deserve that same kindness.

Instead of feeling guilty for needing rest or encouragement, perhaps we can receive it as naturally as we would apply a little balm to dry hands.

I hope your week holds quiet moments, gentle rhythms, and unexpected reminders that God is already meeting you beside still waters.

Until next Monday,

Carrie
