I was missing what actually nourished me — how to notice it again

🌿 February’s First Breath
A small collection of things that quietly nourish.

Steam rising from a warm mug
Cool air filling your lungs when you step outside
The scent of soap on clean hands
Sunlight moving across the floor as the morning passes
A breath taken before responding
A moment of quiet before the house wakes
Something gentle entering without effort

Something to Keep
This week, notice what enters your life and body gently.
Not what demands attention.
Not what drains you.
But what arrives quietly and leaves you feeling just a little more steady.
When you notice it, see if you can let it in fully.
One breath.
One moment.
No rushing past it.

Hello beautiful souls,

Welcome to February.

This month, we’re beginning with the word Breathe, and this first week is about the inhale.

So much of life asks us to give, respond, manage, and hold.
Especially for sensitive people, it can start to feel like we’re always exhaling; always releasing energy without noticing what fills us back up.

This week is an invitation to notice what nourishes you.

Not in a dramatic way.
Not as another task.
But through the smallest openings in the day.

A breath before speaking.
A scent that comforts.
A pause that lets something kind enter.

No fixing.
No improving.
Just allowing yourself to receive.

A gentle practice for today

Once today, pause and bring your attention to your breath.

You don’t need to change it.
Just notice the inhale.

Where do you feel it first?
Your nose?
Your chest?
Your belly?

As you breathe in, silently say:
I am allowed to take this in.

Let the exhale happen on its own.

Take one more slow inhale if it feels right.
Then return to your day.

That’s enough.

A journaling prompt

There’s no pressure to go deep.

What quietly nourished me today?

You might write one word.
You might list three small things.
You might simply notice the answer and move on.

All of it counts.

Small radiant practices for the week

Choose one — or none. Let them stay optional.

• Take one intentional breath before starting something
• Notice a scent that feels comforting or familiar
• Pause before responding and inhale once
• Let warmth (tea, water, sunlight) enter slowly
• Name one thing that gently replenishes you
• Let receiving be enough for today

Inhaling doesn’t require effort.
It’s a remembering.

You are allowed to be nourished.
You are allowed to take things in gently.
You are allowed to breathe without earning it.

May this week meet you softly.
May you notice what supports you.
May you feel just a little more spacious inside.

With warmth,
Carrie

If you feel like it, hit reply and share one small thing that nourished you this week. A breath, a scent, a moment. I’d love to hear.
